Prague Castle in the Czech Republic is Europe's largest castle, and an impressive sight. It resides at the Northwestern edge of Old Prague and offers an excellent view of the old town. Frederiksborg Castle is a beautiful castle in Renaissance style from the 16th century, complete with moat, fountains and a French style garden, located in and around a lake in Hillerød North of Copenhagen in Denmark. Schönbrunn Castle is an extensive castle complex West of Vienna in Austria, with a large park and even its own Zoo.
The Versailles Castle South of Paris in France was the residence of King Louis XIV, The Sun King, and the French royal residence until the French revolution in 1689. Even today you get a good idea of the kind of extravagance and decadence that caused the French to rebel.
