A beach in Primorsko, Bulgaria

Europe has thousands of miles of beach at The Mediterranean, The Black Sea, The Atlantic Ocean and the Baltic Sea - this is a selection of some of the best, based not only on the beach itself but also how easy it is to reach, restaurants, cafes and acomodation nearby and health safety.

  • Valencia, Spain

The Valencia town beach North of the harbour is a beautiful beach with white sand, free showers, cafes and restaurants along the beach and good parking and public transportation. The town of Valencia is a sight in itself with both the Old Town and the new town just West of the harbour. And Valencia is the town where the Paella dish was invented.

  • The Lido in Venice, Italy

The Lido in Venice is a wide beach area South of Venice proper at the Caspian Sea. It is well visited by tourists and offer sightseeing trips into Venice and its canals.

The Copenhagen town beach South of the city center was finished in its new shape in 2006, and offers a child friendly beach with low water, calm waves, white sand and a Metro station next door, taking you around all of Copenhagen and all the sights and its vivid nightlife within minutes.

  • Montpellier, France

The town beach of Montpellier at the Northwestern corner of The Mediterranean is a well developed beach with accomodation next to the beach and of course the many cultural offers of Montpellier and the nightlife influenced by the Montpellier University.

The selected beaches are not beach resorts, completely focused on and around the beach. Such beaches exist, the Southeastern and Eastern coast of Spain and resorts like Sunny Beach in Bulgaria are obvious choices.
